Comments Thread For: David Tua, Cedric Kushner at Odds Over Barrett Loss?

Promoter Cedric Kushner has been unable to get in contact with his own boxer, David Tua, according to TVZN. Kushner was clearly frustrated with the outcome of Tua's recent rematch with Monte Barrett. Tua lost a twelve round unanimous decision. The loss cost Tua a potential fight with WBC heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko. Klitschko's United States adviser Shelly Finkel confirmed that there would have been discussions if Tua was victorious.

I would have liked to see a Vitali/Tua fight, ashame Tua blew it.

Tua Vs Klitschko could still sell.. afterall David did prove the power is still there & there's always the storyline Of Klitschko being the only fighter ever to knock the Samoan out.. You can't go wrong with 2 alltime sluggers going at it although truth be told.. it would be such a mismatch.. Tua would be getting hit with jabs from all angles & wouldn't be able to land his left hook nowhere near Vitali's range.

Maybe we can have another Tua/Barrett match and maybe Tua can finally win.

        If he ever wins...

Sadly I think that's it for Tua, I mean you can only be given so many chances and Tua has had repeated chances over the last decade and always blows it.

Him vs Vitali is one of the worst mismatches I can think of anyway.

Best thing Tua can do is try get Areolla in the ring imo.

Tua did floor Barrett and break his jaw. I wasn't that impressed with Barrett in the 2nd half of the fight.

But story of David's life: squandered opportunities.

Tua-Barrett III should be put on the Pac-Marquez 3 card

If you want to see Tua against a K bro watch the fight between him and Lewis. The fight would look a lot like that.
