WBC middleweight king Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. may bring in former champion Jose Luis Lopez to help train him for the scheduled defense with Ronald Hearns on September 17 in Mexico. Chavez's trainer, Freddie Roach, will be busy training Manny Pacquiao for his trilogy fight with Juan Manuel Marquez in November.

Wait! This seems kind of strange to me... Manny fights in November.. Training camp for that should be starting around mid September which would be 6 - 8 weeks out.. Why wouldn't Freddie be able to train Jr...? Jr's fight is 6 weeks away.. Something is up..!Freddie is gna have hard time training, Vanes, Manny, Amir, Kayode and Jr...I know for a fact 4 out of the 5 are going to fight before the end of the year...Is Tony Atlas available, Emmanuel Steward or even Roger Mayweather...?LOL...Helllooooo.... Chavez is a ****** for picking Roach as a trainer.

The sad truth is that Roach is a Hollywood trainer who had a goldmine dropped into his lap in the shape of Pacman, any trainer wouldve done the same thing Roach has done with manny.

Roach has like 50 Boxers/MMA/Celebrities guys that he "Trains". He only gives Manny 90% of his time, Amir 8% of his time and the rest share 2%.

Roach started training celebrities, infact his GYM was given to him as a GIFT from a Actor.

Any Boxer who hires Freddie Roach these days is a complete ****** since you will never get full time from him and you have to get your own trainer since Roach might only come there on fight night if you are lucky.

Roach only devotes full time to his star pupils which are pac and khan. JCC Jr is not a standout and neither is Kayode or Vanes so they dont get as much training as they need that is why Vanes doesnt rely on Roach anymore. Kayode will get dropped once he loses a fight and Chavez will go as far as he can until he meets with Martinez then Roach will stop training him as well.

I'm not a fan of JCC jr by any means and I think Roach is useless when it comes to being jr's trainer. All he needs is Ariza and he will perform at the same level with any knowledgable coach. That level being as mediocre you want it to be.

As a matter of fact Roach is a pretty normal coach he just became this superstar because of Pacquiao's success. I credit what Roach has done with Pacquiao but aside from him, only a small number of fighters have been substantially better with the help of Roach.

Lmao! I think I have to agree with all u guys! Hilarious! Roach really can't help Jr as much, his skill set is sub par C level! Maybe he developed a sick jab and stopped bein flat footed ! Maybe! Koyode ehh! He's avg, really hasn't impressed me with his power! Vanes! He's the most skilled from these 2! We all saw the youtube video of him just abusin Jr with several angles! Maybe for a bigger fight Freddie will help him train! Freddie is da best handicapper in the boxing game ! But u guys are right! Freddie is all business ! If it don't make money it don't make sense! But what is funny is how can he have Ariza nxt to him when Manny needs Ariza at same time if Manny is goin to be training with Freddie! I just can't wait till Jr get smashed on by a legit 160 pounder! U can be 100 -5 but if u boxing mechanic workers, construction workers and guys who fix homes for a living! Freddie Roach is trainer of the year for several years and have guided many elite fighters to be world champions. Your IQ is only about 30-40 imo.
