  • Comments Thread For: Segura May Return on 9/15, But Not With Pingo Miranda

Despite rumors that former light flyweight champion Giovani Segura will face Mexican compatriot Julio Cesar "Pingo" Miranda on September 15, neither Segura or his manager Richard Mota are particularly keen on the idea.

Segura should move up to the Bantamweight and bring back the glory of Mexican boxing.

I hope Segura knocks out Mares flat on the ground before any low blows land.

Or let Jorge Arce trade low blows all night with Mares.

Abnutt Mares is a freaking disgrace in the lineage of Mexican champions/Mexican-American champions.

I would pay to see Segura fight Roman Gonzalez, that would be epic. I see Gonzalez winning by KO.

Did you read the article? Segura isn't against fighting Miranda, he just doesn't want to give Miranda the opportunity since he passed over Segura for a title shot despite him being the mandatory last time.

Reminds me of when Nate Campbell won the lightweight title and Julio Diaz, who had passed him over to take more money against Juan Diaz in a unification match, had just won an eliminator for the number 2 spot.

Nate Campbell told me, "I'll make him fight for the number 1 spot, also."
