Comments Thread For: Golden Boy To Keep Angulo Busy During Visa Situation

BoxingScene.com caught up with Golden Boy Promotions matchmaker Eric Gomez shortly after their fighter Abner Mares captured the IBF bantamweight title at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, NV. The topic of our conversation was the career status of exciting junior middleweight contender Alfredo "El Perro" Angulo. Promoter Gary Shaw recently sold Angulo's contract to Golden Boy Promotions. The fighter of Mexican descent has been inactive because of visa issues since a 1st round knockout victory over Joachim Alcine in July of 2010. Angulo is scheduled to return to the ring next Saturday in Mexicali, BC, Mexico.

good, he shouldn't have been sitting around for as long as he did in the first place. hopefully he's get everything figured out and can fight in the US next year. Canada could be another option, can it? hopefully they can telecast some of his fights over here, i'm not sure if televisa is shown here in the states, i know tv azteca is.

Golden Boy just want to keep Angulo out of the way of Canelo . It's ridiculous how Sulaiman strip the tittle of Bradley but not force Canelo and Chavez to fight their mandatory . WBC is a joke !

          Alfredo should fight in Canada

Why not keep him busy not only in Mexico but why not have him fight in Canada? Our immigration is a joke. He shows up here, not only will we pay him to be here as a citizen, but we would give him healthcare, teach him to speak english(if he wanted 2 only as it's no longer a requirement to speak english here). Would be great 2 see perro fight here

Or maybe he can learn to speak French? Wouldn't that be a trip to hear Agulo speak Spanish and French? Whatever allows him to fight, whether it's a US or Canadian citizenship.
