Can someone explain to me what the big deal is about Froch?

He has a win over Dirrell (which was really a loss), a loss to Kessler, a win over Johnson (which was really a draw), a solid win over Abraham, but truthfully Abraham is one of the worst boxers to ever lace up gloves and will make you look better than you actually are, and if you want to go back he was throughly outboxed by Taylor until his notorious stamina problems caught up to him. Froch possesses no skill whatsoever, the amount of overhand rights he allowed an old, weight drained Johnson was ridiculous.

Andre Ward is going to put on a clinic and box Froch's ears off.

And yes I scored the Johnson fight a draw.

    Sue me.

The Pascal win is pretty solid.

He's a very strong SMW willing to fight anyone.

He's a crowd pleaser with attitude.

    People like that.

Well I like Froch because he's not afraid to fight the best ... I remember that I used to dislike Froch because I thought he was just too ****y, but now I really like him.

He's willing to fight the best, and I think that he has a long streak of fighting strong good boxers.

He's an entertaining boxer, willing to get into punching exchanges but he's also smart enough to use the ring very well.

He has a good chin, maybe not the best one in boxing but enough to be confident that he won't get knocked down by the first punch.

He's an unorthodox fighter, and that's the main reason he's really hard to fight against. He may not be the most skilled boxer, but as he's "different", other guys don't really know how to beat his style.

He has good punching power, and the ability to hurt other boxers, maybe not by one KO punching power, but by throwing punches during the entire bout.

Well I guess those are the main reasons ... For me the most important one is his current rivals streak ... Johnson, Abraham, Kessler, Dirrell, Taylor and Pascal.
All of them were supposed to be among the best of their division, and other than maybe Dirrell, I think he was a clear winner in most of his fights. The Kessler fight was really close and could have gone either way, and with Johnson I have to say that I had the fight 116-112 in favor of Froch.

im not to fussed about his persona, but he fights top opponents. he didnt run away from super six like dirrell, or taylor etc.

his record id really good and is a future hall of famer

regardless of the andre ward fight, he will eventually go on to fight maybe bute and stiegletz or rematch with kessler, before going p to light heavy and he will no doubt fight nathan cleverly

There is no doubt Froch is a good fighter but gets overrated because he did better than most expected him to.

I mean he clearly lost to a green Dirrel also in my opinion clearly lost to a faded but still good Kessler was having serious problems with a old man who lost to nearly every major play at 175 until he gassed.
Arthur and Taylor were blown up middle weights who have beaten no one at 168.

But if he beats Ward he deserves some serious props but I cant see that happening

Whether you think he beat Dirrell or not, which I don't, he still has wins over Pascal, Taylor, Dirrell, Abraham, and Glen Johnson, with an arguable win over Kessler, which I thought he lost.

He has won more than he's lost against the best competition, and this year is fighting to prove who the best super middleweight in the world is. I'd say it's obvious why he is a big deal. Guys who win a lot against pretty good opposition deserve attention, more attention than Froch gets.
