He is making money off his dads name and Canelo is making money off being the first ginger mexican boxer. But I thought Chavez's last opponent was a tough guy that he should get credit for. Sebastian Zbik seemed like a tough fighter to me.

I agree - he deserves props for Zbik. Zbik is a tough dude with pretty well crafted boxing skills.

manfredo will be a good sparring session for JR and if the sept fight comes off, all the better as it won't be on US TV, so no one can see the anything funny going on or questionable stoppages or poor mexican judging...

How come ESPN never gets any of Chavez's fights? Is it because they're not interesting in him? Is Chavez Jr. only a name in Mexico and not really in the states?

Defying his promoters to give a great contender a shot at the title. I wish more fighters were like Chavez, what a fighting champion.

I'm in awe of the man.

I think he's only a name amongst latino families in the US. A lot of the mainstream and casual fans aren't really big on him.

But in the LA Area, and in Tejas - dude is popular.

Smash - Good sense of humor. Back to a serious note, once again team Chavez is avoiding the best fighters. How many white fighters in a row is this for Chavez and Canelo??? 6 or 7?? Yes, Chavez is living of a name. He is avoiding Martinez and Rubio.
