Steward may work corner for Fury, he says Klitschko-Arreola possible in late fall

    W. Klitschko vs. Arreola in Nov.?

    by Lem Satterfield

Wladimir Klitschko's trainer Emanuel Steward says he wants THE RING heavyweight champ to defend against Chris Arreola in November.

Trainer Manny Steward said that he is targeting Chris Arreola for Wladimir Klitschko's next defense, and that he may be working as the corner man for Tyson Fury's next bout.

Steward said that he would like to see Klitschko-Arreola in November or December. "Arreola's who I would like for Wladimir," Steward told RingTV.com. "I know that at 235 pounds, Chris Arreola is doing something right. He's clearly become more serious with his training and he would make Wladimir fight."

The 67-year-old Steward also said that were it not for his role as ringside commentator for Saturday night's Amir Khan-Zab Judah fight, he might have been in the corner of Fury (15-0, 10 knockouts), who scored a unanimous decision over Dereck Chisora on the same night.

"I spoke to him the morning of his last fight and wished him good luck,” Steward said. “But this last fight, because of the fact that I had a broadcast job the same day, I couldn't leave because of my contract. But there is a good possibility that we'll be training him for his next fight.”

"Tyson has natural coordination and he's just 22 years old, so he's got time on his side ad there's no rush. But he is going to be the next dominant heavyweight after Wladimir and Vitali Klitschko. I've worked with Tyson for his fights before. He came here and lived with me and stayed at my house with me. He's a cousin of Andy Lee, who I also train. He'll take over in another year or year in a half."

That's a good fight- I think arreola has a better shot against Wlad than Vitali, plus he's more experienced now than when he fought vitali.

Arreola is a fearless ring warrior, so he would make for a more entertaining fight with Wlad than Haye did.

I dont know, I see a Wlad-Arreola fight turning out to be like Wlad-Peter II, with Wlad using Chris as a punching bag before KO'ing him in the later rounds. I dont think Chris has the speed to challenge Wlad.

            Make it happen.

Wlad-Arreola would be an entertaining fight while it lasts.

                I enjoyed Wlad-Peter.

One I didn't like very much was Wlad-Chambers, except for the KO in the last minute, because Chambers never tried to win after round two, he went into survival mode and ran.

Chris doesn't run - he'll give it 100% and go out on his shield.

Arreola has cancelled his September 15th fight, so it looks like he indeed may be Wladimir's fall opponent.

By the way, I wonder if Steward will be in Fury's corner on Sept 17?

Is there a chance that Chris Arreola will be fighting Wladimir Klitschko before the end of the year?

                  Dan Rafael (12:05 PM)

There's a great chance Arreola will get that shot next year but it is quite unlikely to happen this year.
