  • Comments Thread For: Kevin Mitchell Shocks John Murray, TKO Win in Eight

Echo Arena, Liverpool - In a very grueling lightweight battle, Kevin Mitchell returned for the first tim since last year's shocking knockout to Michael Katsidis, and stopped previously undefeated John Murray in eight rounds. Mitchell slowly broke him down in a very even fight. In the eight round, a fading Murray walked into an inside hook which caught him right on the chin and it almost put him down face first. He beat the count and then Mitchell attacked with a barrage of punches to force the stoppage as the referee stepped in to wave it off.

Not too suprising, Murray's opponent win/loss record was completly crap like 420-600. Mitchells was like 420-300, still crap but ALOT better than Murray, I dont know why people hyped Murray up so much, the loss on Mitchells record was 10x better than any opponent that Murray ever faced.

****** UK bookies buying into the Frank Warren hype.

        Thanks for the money Mitchell!

Im glad Murray got knocked out he was a domestic hypejob that fought a string of journeyman and built up a padded record.

Murray can now get a job at McDonalds.

Rematch Katsidis and then I'd like to see him take on Brandon Rios who in my opinion will obliterate.

This is happens when you have the guts to face your main domestic rival in a grudge match, Murray probably would have been better off doing a Hatton and duck this fight like Hatton did Witter but he was man enough to do it when he didn't need to, Great fight and hopefully Murray picks himself up after this.
