Comments Thread For: Tony Bellew Decisions Ovill McKenzie For a Cautious Win

Echo Arena, Liverpool - Unlike their exciting first meeting, the rematch was fought at a lackluster pace. Commonwealth (British Empire) light heavyweight champion Tony Bellew (16-0, 10KOs) won a twelve round unanimous decision over Ovill McKenzie (18-11, 7KOs). With the victory he adds the vacant British light heavyweight title. The scores were 118-111, 118-111 and 119-110.

A tale of two fights, I understand why Bellew took that approach. He got the win, and will probably get his match against Clev.

Arrogant lad, didn't see much from him, thought his jab was pedestrian at best, but he got the W, and promised fireworks if he got his world title shot. We'll see...
