Comments Thread For: Lennox Lewis: Vitali is Better, I'd Knock Wladimir Out

its easy to talk when you're sitting back, retired. It may be true & Mike Tyson would have KO'd Lewis, if they fought in his prime....we'll never know. Lewis couldn't handle anyone his size. That's why he got his a$$ handed to him, against Vitali.Comment

Bad stoppage in the McCall fight. Definitely not in the Rahman fight.
Lewis avenged his losses himself in absolutely dominating fashion, sending McCall into a nervous breakdown and stretching Rahman out on his back in four rounds. Wladimir never avenged the Purrity or Sanders fights and he took longer to beat Brewster than Brewster took to beat him.Comment

The Purrity fight was an obvious fluke and I like Ross hes a trainer in my hometown, but different league of fighters. Brewster got beat up in every round against Wladimir except the round he scored the stoppage in, its obvious Wladimir was the much better fighter. The only rematch I would have been interested in is Sanders, but Lennox showed even less desire to fight Sanders than Wlad did. I think Lewis is better than Wlad, but he was just as guilty of the jab, jab, grab as Wlad is and had the same questions regarding chin.Bad stoppage in the McCall fight. Definitely not in the Rahman fight.

I think that you missed that too, where the "eye was hanging out of it's socket"... You guys go from exaggeration to myths to downright lies, just like this one. One would think that there had been enough written about "face half hanging off" and eyes hanging out of ****ets" and other OBVIOUS lies, to sink a ship. Yet this stuff still kkeps rolling in.
There must by a large basement somewhere, where a horde of rubbishmakers keep shurning this crap out.
I bet you $100 to $1 that Klitschko had NO EYE hanging out. a Public Challenge. I'll also bet you that he had NO IMPAIRED VISION at all. Put up, or shut up.
It's about time that you guys realise that the time has past when you can hide behind your keyboards and just use your fevered imaginations.
Go and write for Science Fiction pulps (my first love incidentally) ) if you MUST, but leave boxing alone.Comment

Lewis didn't "put McCall into a nervous breakdown"as you say, it was the exact opposite.Bad stoppage in the McCall fight. Definitely not in the Rahman fight.

Lewis took McCall straight from a Mental Home. and after 6 weeks training, McCall broke down in the ring, I mean a complete NERVOUS BREAKDOWN, and was wandering wround the ring crying. he went straight back into the Mental Home
There was much criticism of this fight BEFORE it happened, but Lewis jumped at the obvious advantage. I don't think he even had to pull his neck down and uppercut him at all this fight.Comment

You seen it?? Lewis was all wobbly, ignore his bs that he was ready to continue. It was just EGO talking after getting thrashed for the first time. One of the main things I always hated about the guy, the enormous ego. Even if the ref let him go on, he'd just get beaten down again and finished. McCall was a mean mofo back then.Bad stoppage in the McCall fight. Definitely not in the Rahman fight.

You should really read up on the Purrity fight before writing about it. Purrity had one claim to fame. He was a good journeyman, never been KO'd.Bad stoppage in the McCall fight. Definitely not in the Rahman fight.

Klitschko beat him right around the ring, dominated every round, but couldn't KO him. By the middle of the 11th rd, having overwhelmingly won the first 10, Klitschko wore down, and his corner ctopped the fight.
What is NEVER considered is that Klitschko was only 21-22 years old, weighed 225, and that THIS WAS HIS 25th FIGHT in 24 MONTHS. The FIRST 24 months of his career. He had overdone it and fought himdelf to a frazzle.
The Sanders fight was different, Klitschko wasn't prepared, and he should have been. BUT what is never-seemingly- noticed is that Sanders landed NO right hands, but Klitschko's left eye was badly cut. (How, and BY WHAT. I say a HEAD). And, most important, only a very few (yes they are there) noticed that Sanders' head arrived just at the same time as his fist, and smashed into Klitschko's forehead. You need slo motion to see it properly as it is almost simultaneous. But in MY opinion, it was THIS, which caused the 1st Klitschko KD, and left him vulnerable to the other KD's. Don't forget, he kept getting up. it was a TKO.Comment
