Comments Thread For: Arum's Update on Cotto-Margarito II, Pacquiao-Marquez

Although Top Rank Promotions CEO Bob Arum still is undecided on where the Dec. 3 rematch between WBA junior middleweight champion Miguel Cotto of Puerto Rico and ex-titlist Antonio Margarito of Mexico will take place, he told BoxingScene.com that New York's Madision Square Garden is ahead in the considerations over the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

**** hbo and the garbage fights they been putting on this year, hopefully showtime gets it. showtime's card last week was great and the announcers did a very good job while hbo's card was a snooze fest besides the rico ramos ko.

Why would Cotto want to fight in New York anyways? They pay taxes out the ass over there.

This fight would be huge in Texas or Florida. And of course it would be huge in Vegas.

Because He will definitely have the crowd advantage in NY...could help sway the judges. also cotto has never lost in NY. but yea NY is so expensive vegas definitely makes more sense money wise.

I'm not 100% convinced that Nevada will license Cheato. If I recall correctly, NSAC advised Plaster Boy that he had to make it right with CSAC before they would let him apply for a license to fight in Sin City. And except for Arum and his cronies in the Texas jurisdiction, I haven't heard of any other state jurisdictions, on the advice of the ABC, that has budged in procuring a license for this idiot. But of course New York, with its ***ish/political ties to Arum and the herd of Boricua fans for Cotto, would approve Plasterito for a "one & done" joint in MSG.

After that this dude's goose is cooked on US soil as far as licenses go, imo.
