Comments Thread For: Wladimir: Klitschko Crisis Will Continue For a Long Time!

During their press conference in Moscow, Russia, heavyweight champions Wladimir and Vitali Klitschko spoke to reporters about their continued domination of every possible contender. The two brothers have captured every major title in their division. Wladimir holds the WBO/IBO/WBA/IBF titles and older brother Vitali has the WBC title.

i wonder if the "strategy" wladimir is referring to is the brothers "splitting the list" of up and coming contenders between the two of them instead of one facing all the new challenges alone? am i making any sense? and if that isn't the strategy, what "strategy" is wlad referring to?

what i find interesting is the fairweather fans who dont like the bros because of their dominance and state how bad the division is.

so, how about if the bros never boxed? what would we have now? would it be more competitive? if so, would rainy day fans, especially american fanboys really like to see lower class heavies go back and forth with titles?

if that was the case, people around here would be asking if peter could beat tyson(who himself was overhyped if u know a thing or two) or if someone like haye is a top 20 heavyweight.

fact is, americans biased attitude means nothing outside of america. in europe, heavyweight boxing is doing fine - not great, but fine.

americans are like the spoiled rich c#nts on the block, who think there has to be an american heavyweight champ for the division to be restored. it is factually delusional. kinda makes me hope no american rules the division for a long time.

          - and btw i'm glad haye pussed out and ran more than even wlad's softest opponent. the hype he was given was merited only in the imaginations of people who are rainy day fans; and brits who drank his stank koolaid. if you thought haye was an exciting fighter, you were delusional.

You've been posting the same thing over and over again.

Who are these "up and coming contenders" Vitali is keeping away from Wladimir?

Albert Sosnowski? Shannon Briggs? Odlanier Solis?

Seriously, nobody is forced to fight Vitali. Wladimir has proven many times that he is willing to fight any top contender, but the current batch seem to want nothing to do with him. Povetkin was the mandatory for a long time, but didn't want to fight. Wladimir has already beaten Chambers, Chagaev, and Haye. About the only top fighter you could mention who went to Vitali instead was Arreola.

The problem is not that Wladimir is somehow hiding from contenders behind his brother, it's that there are no contenders currently ready and willing to challenge him. Boytsov and Helenius show at least some promise, but neither is ready yet.

Both of the Klitschkos are cerebral, strategic fighters that have likening boxing to chess, thinking several moves ahead. Or it could be that Wlad is fighting the feather fisted guys like Haye, Peter and Rahman and Vitali is fighting the monster punchers like Johnson, Gomez and Sosnowski.
