Comments Thread For: Steward: Haye Will Not Follow Lennox Lewis' Advice

Former heavyweight champion Lennox Lewis recently made a strategic suggestion to his countryman David Haye, to fight Wladimir Klitschko in the same manner as Nikolai Valuev. In the clash with Valuev, Haye stayed away and moved around the ring while throwing only a few punches per round. Emanuel Steward, former trainer of Lewis and current trainer of Klitschko, doesn't expect Haye to fight in that style because Valuev is a lot slower.

Move side to side, bob and weave, left hooks and straight lefts as he circles to his left-away from the jab. Wlad rarely leads with the right, it's normally thrown after the jab.

really all that needs to be done to beat klitschko is for his opponent to be in shape, fast and with power, hungry to win..unlike his other opponents like david said are all fat and only there for the paycheck,,,also what is true is what haye said a couple of weeks ago, take away wlads height, make him 6'2 and 220 and with that ugly style of his he's a nobody,he realies on his strenght to lean on his opponents, tire them and then ko them...thats it,and haye is so right

Haye has a great shot to win.

Just as much as Apollo had vs Drago.

I respect people who know about fighters, and if you only had known something about them, I would have respected your opinions. BUT.....since you seem to know nothing, I'll have to wait a few years until you learn....if you ever do. I seriously mean this.

All fighters use their strengths to their advantage. Saying that if you take away someones height and weight and they will become a nobody is ******. That's like saying if you took away Tyson's power he would be a nobody or Pacquiao's speed or Margarito's chin. If Wladimir was shorter and not as big he would just have a different style and different strengths and weaknesses.

damn you are ******...take away your brain and you would be ******ed... oh wait

So if we took away 4 inches from Haye and 30 pounds and he would still fight the same way as well, being 5'11" and 180, huh?

Next time don't listen to what Gaye says, he also told you all he won't fight Fraudley and many, many other things. Get ready to find out that he lied to you all that he will beat Wlad after tomorrow.
