As BoxingScene has recently reported, unbeaten Russian light welterweight force Denis Shafikov (26-0-1, 15 KOs) was once again sidelined by the Italian veteran Guiseppe Lauri (51-7, 31 KOs). Both fighters were chosen to take part in a clash for a vacant European 140lb title but the fight was a hard luck as it was re-scheduled four times in a row, according to Shafikov’s management. The last time this unlucky collision was cancelled before June 18, which means both teams have been struggling for more than three months to conduct a proposed battle. Shafikov’s manager Oleg Bogdanov talked to Andrey Bazdrev of PBFR and Allboxing’s Vladimir Begun Jr. regarding his feelings and Denis’s plans for the future.
