Comments Thread For: Deontay Wilder Knocks Damon Reed Out in Two Rounds

Before a crowd of 3,500 fans at the Tuscaloosa Amphitheater in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, heavyweight prospect Deontay Wilder (17-0, 17KOs) knocked out Damon Reed (46-16) in two rounds. After winning the first round, Wilder and Reed were trading punches at the start of the second. Wilder caught Reed against the ropes and landed multiple combinations, including a combo with both hands that put Reed down for the count.

It's time Deontay Wilder fought a live opponent.

Someone from the BoxRec top 250 heavyweights.

Damon Reed is age 40 and ranked #285.

I think the networks need to start to pay attention to this kid. He's IMO America's best HW prospect and a Olympic Bronze medalist. They put every kind of looser on TV this days and leaving Wilder out is an insult to boxing fans. He does need a step up but IMO they know what they got and how much work he needs. NP here with him taking his time instead of jumping into a Klitschko fight w/o being ready...

Reed is ranked #285, and he'll drop lower by tomorrow after tonight's result is factored in.

Yeah he should take on some awesome opponents such as Taurus Sykes, like that bum Alexander Povetkin did after he was already ranked for a title shot.

they need etter opponents for Wilder. and I dont mean he already needs to be fighting top guys, but they need to face him against old vets that will teach him something, instead of guys that just come in to boost his record.

hes not learning a single thing from these fights, they might be doing him more harm than good.

And also Harold Sconiers is ranked in the top 200, higher than both Taurus Sykes and Teke Oruh, guys that Povetkin has fought while ranked in the top 5 in the world himself.

So there goes your ****** argument there Mr. Boxrec Warrior.
