Whether or not he is victorious against America's unbeaten Andre Ward, 24-0 (13 KOs) in the final of the Super Six World Boxing Classic, which is due to take place before the end of the year, Nottingham's 33-year-old WBC super-middleweight world champion Carl Froch, 28-1 (20 early), should look back upon his recent run of fights with an immense sense of pride.

Because Froch will always live in Big Joe's shadow. An unpalatable fact that Froch's supporters will always try and dismiss, but a fact all the same.

Froch already has amassed a resume which will give Joe's a close run, let alone if he beats Ward.

froch has drawn distinction from calzaghe. he has now branched off from out from under his shadow and has been whittling his own legacy.

Froch's attitude to challenge should be held up as an example.

Few are even daring to think of doing it like he's been doing it over 3 world-class years.

If Carl beats Andre Ward he surpasses Calzaghe in my opinion. It's just gone so fast that it's flown over a lot of peoples heads that Froch is actually cleaning out the entire division. He's an underdog against Ward though.

In the past two and a half years Froch has only fought two men who had any real credibility, and he lost one of those......
The division just isn't what it used to be. Froch can't be blamed for that, he can only beat who ever is put in front of him, but a peak Calzaghe would have made him look a novice, and the likes of Roy Jones and Nigel Benn would have KO'd him.
