The WBC's Emeritus and Diamond champion at middleweight, Sergio "Maravilla" Martínez, is looking forward to securing his next opponent for October 1, the probable date for his next ring appearance on HBO in the United States and TyC Sports in Argentina. Martinez would like to face WBA middleweight champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. but he doesn't see the fight happening.

Daniel Geale would be great! Too bad he's another good fighter with no name.

This is really sad. The ducking of Martinez is in full effect.

Very sad these are his options, but the Gael fight is the right move; keep snatching up the belts and hold them hostage so people will have to fight him if they wanna be a champ.

So Pirog brings nothing but Barker does?

There are plenty of fighters who want to fight Martinez. Cut this talk off, it's not true.

I can't get mad at Martinez unifying, so I'll accept that fight.

Neither does, but choosing Barker/Geale is no better or worse than choosing pirog. IMO HBO willonly go for geale anyways.

If fight a fight with Sturm or JCC Jr can't be made then might aswell be any of the others in the top 10.

I'm fine with a fight against Geale. Get that IBF belt back onto US television.

Don't know about Barker, but a win over Geale is much better than a win over Pirog. Pirog beat an overhyped prospect and Geale just came off a great win against Sebastian Sylvester (third best middleweight after Sturm).

Oh, I don't disagree...I'm just trying to explain it so that ppl who have never seen either guy fight or knishes much about either guy can understand. Ppl throw around pirog because his name has become catchy. I definitely rate geale above him. But from serg's standpoint he batters both.
