  • Comments Thread For: Mikey Garcia Beats Down Rafael Guzman, TKO in Four

At the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California, featherweight contender Mikey Garcia (26-0, 22KOs) knocked out late-replacement Rafael Guzman (28-3, 20KOs) in four rounds. After a good first round by the taller Guzman, Garcia came back in the second with hard combinations to open up a cut above the right eye of Guzman. After Garcia dished out a minor beating the third, a straight right hand decked Guzman down hard in the fourth. Guzman tried to get up and stumbled back down as the ref waved it off.

Very mature for his age, I think he can beat everyone in his division except Gamboa. That fight will be awesome.

i can see salido grinding him up... but this kid has great ring IQ.

mikey is very solid... but at the moment, its hard to see anyone matching gamboas elite-level explosiveness.

Garcia is a great prospect. He boxed excellent last night and if can keep his composure under fire and get off his right hand, he'll put his mark in the division. I am glad he's ready to step up to the top of the division. Still think Gamboa might be too fast and powerful for him right now.
