According to former three division champion Erik Morales, he won't return in the month of July. His next fight is being pushed back to the month of August. The bout will happen either in Las Vegas or Mexico. Morales wants a big fight after going toe to toe with Marcos Maidana in a close points loss in April. The Mexican veteran has not given up on a possible fourth world title. He wants WBA 140-pound champion Amir Khan in August.

Morales should fight Khan and if he lost no big deal. He wins, and he surpasses both Barrera and JMM in greatness even though I think Khan is overrated.

Morales vs. Khan is a terrible Idea.

Out of all the champs between 135-140lbs his best chance to capture a title is against IBF Lightweight Miguel Vazquez.I think Vazquez is one of the most underrated champs around and would win by UD.

If Erik will pursue the 140 title, then he must get acquainted and comfortable with the weight and look for reasonable opponents. He cannot easily/simply go for the title shot w/o fighting contenders, IMO.
