Comments Thread For: Andy Lee, Emanuel Steward Push For Brian Vera Rematch

Newly crowned NABA and NABF Middleweight Champion, Andy Lee (26-1, 19KOs) has long held a burning desire for the opportunity to have a rematch against Brian Vera (18-5, 11KOs), who is the only boxer to have defeated the Kronk fighter in his professional career.

mcewan outboxed vera in 09, then almost beat lee but was stopped. i think lee is fully capable of beating vera now...hopefully the rematch gets made, it'd be an interesting fight

Don't sleep on Vera. totally different fighter. more defense / movement - he out boxed sergio mora and another decent cat, he will catch Andy "1875 chin up in the air" Lee. we already know he couldn't take dude's shots back then, what - he grew muscles on his chin

        A very even fight again.

Hopefully Lee can put it all together.

If he can't beat Vera he'll never be a champion.

        Tough gatekeeper.

this will be an entertaining fight to watch. WAR LEE. Vera looked pretty good at getting in and doing work on sergio mora. He has better power than McEwan, but isn't quite as finely tuned. If Lee is there to be thumped on the inside like last time it's game time.

Brian Vera is a really nice guy and a fun fighter to watch.

He brings it everytime and there are a lot of talented dudes out there who would be much better fighters if they had even 10% of the heart that Vera does.

I met him in Vegas before he fought James Kirkland and he was as cool as any boxer I've met.

His had his manager hook me up with ringside tickets and I sat right behind Ricky Hatton's family for his fight with Paulie.

That's funny you say that, my friend from Texas was just saying how cool and nice of a dude vera is in real life too. Heard he is a really down to earth dude. Haha he said he isn't the brightest fella on the block, though.

                I agree: Mayweather's defensive skill set + Pacquiao's offensive skill set + VERA's HEART = GOAT

Nice. Man there is NOTHING like being at a live prizefight at the world class level. The closer, the better. Not even the best HD television can make up for the experience of being almost ringside.

Since where on the rematch theme, Andy Lee should give Angulo a shot at redemption...
