Comments Thread For: George Groves: Next Time I Will Ruin James DeGale!

British/Commonwealth super middleweight champion George Groves expects a future rematch with rival James DeGale. Last Saturday at the O2 Arena in London, Groves won a twelve round majority decision over DeGale with scores of 115-115, 115-114 and 115-114. DeGale's promoter Frank Warren would like Groves to grant his boxer an immediate rematch. Groves is going in another direction but he does predict a rematch in the future, where he plans to put a serious hurt on DeGale.

pretty gracious apart from the ruined comment.

But I can imagine a circumstance where Degale becomes a world champ, Groves falls by the wayside a bit.

    DeGale rematches Groves....................and loses, again.

I'm not sure DeGale should bother with Georgey. He clearly has something over him, that he really shouldn't.

groves was the one who looked like he could have been ruined by some of Degale's shots. he boxed beautifully, and nothing wrong with him getting the nod, but to me he didn't really "win" that fight.

i wasn't that impressed with the fight all in all, degale was good enough to keep groves from picking him completely apart, and groves was good enough to keep degale from being more aggressive. it was a stalemate. i think the fight will play out the same about 75 times out of 100.

Good win for Groves man .I bet he doesn't want any more of Kenny Anderon either lol man .He was hurt in that fight but hat off to him came back good .I was watching his footwork today in that fight pretty good but on the backfoot the whole fight and Anderson hardly took a step back .One of them fighters who just keep going forward .Ricky Burns's trainer said Anderson's one of the hardest puncher if not hardest at 12 stone so no shame on Groves either man .Hope Anderson gets active man and some championship fights

Groves is only 23. He is improving a lot and showed how adaptable he can be e.g. his defence in the DeGale fight, which was his supposed weakness.

DeGale is a phenominal athlete, but reminded me a bit like Audley in the pure sense that he didn't really let his shots go. He lacked the killer instinct and wasn't willing to take risks, even after Warren implored him.

Still, both will rise to the top over the next couple of years

Degale won't make any progress until he gets rid of that lesbian looking meth head in his corner, Groves will progress a lot with Booth.

Groves will be a 168lb Champ in the future.DeGale needs to reassess his style.

Groves should try and get a fight with Brian MaGee,Enrique Ornelas,Allan Green,Aurthur Abraham,Sakio Bika. All very good pros that Groves can learn how to master his craft against.
