Former WBC bantamweight champion Fernando Montiel (44-3-2, 34KOs) has asked WBC President Jose Sulaiman to grant him a shot at the organization's super bantamweight champ Toshiaki Nishioka (38-42, 24KOs). Montiel returns on June 25 in Mexico, as a super bantamweight, after getting stopped in two rounds by Nonito Donaire back in February. Nishioka has no problem going on the road. He came to Mexico in 2009, getting off the floor in round one to stop Jhonny Gonzalez in the third. Montiel would like to face him before the end of the year.

well i tell you this cotto has fought the best fighters in the last two years then any other fighter out there im not against montiel getting a shot he deserves it but wbc does give titles to mexicans for free chavez hasnt earned ***** and neither has canelo but montiel earned it cant complain there
