Comments Thread For: Lara Vows: I'm Going To Leave Paul Williams in a Coma

Back in April on BoxingScene.com, undefeated junior middleweight contender Erislandy Lara (15-0-1, 10KOs) challenged former champion Paul "The Punisher" Williams (39-2, 27KOs), and Lara vowed to "end his career." On July 9th, Lara will face Williams in an HBO televised main event. The Cuban slugger still appears to be confident of his ability to end the fight with a knockout. He doesn't expect Williams, who returns from a second round knockout loss to Sergio Martinez, to last the distance.

"Viows"?...is that like when a cat vows to do something?

    To the thread...

I have a feeling Mr. Lara might just die in the ring by the hands of Paul Williams.

Paul is gonna give this guy a lopsided beatdown! Excellent comeback fight for Paul. He fights anybody. He could have understandably taken a soft touch coming back from a KO but to fight a young undefeated prospect with power is a real tribute to PWill. Props for stepping up and taking this fight! I can't wait to see Lara eat his words over 12

Huh? HBO made him take this fight after they scrapped the Ishida fight. He was trying to get a soft touch in Ishida. If he hadn't have taken this fight he wouldn't be on HBO for his comeback.
