  • Comments Thread For: Hopkins: Pascal Will Be Champion Again in a Year or Less

The bad blood is over between Bernard Hopkins and Jean Pascal. On Saturday night, Hopkins captured the WBC/IBO light heavyweight titles with a twelve round unanimous decision at the Bell Centre in Montreal, Canada. During the press tour and the pre-fight hype, the two boxers nearly came to blows and the verbal fireworks were heavy. After Hopkins became the oldest fighter in boxing history to win a world title at age 46, he gave Pascal, 28, some veteran advice to improve on his stylistic flaws.

Hopkins is 100% correct. The kid has a lot to work on.
Not to mention he needs to hire a conditioning coach. He is the only fighter I can ever remember having Hopkins hurt in a fight, and he just could not capitalize on it.

The competition at 168-175 is pretty ridiculous. It might be hard for him to win a big fight again, and I think Pascal is a good fighter.

Pavlik outboxed Martinez in the middle rounds though, Hopkins was toying with him for 12 rounds.

No, he dd not. Pavlik can take a lot more from the Martinez loss than he can from the Hopkins debacle. Hopkins took everything he had.

                    Clown

Your a Straight up CLOWN. If you say Martinez is a better fighter cause he beat pavlik up better than Hopkins..Not only is it not true, but also it's like comparing good pitchers in baseball. Every fighter has his own game plan. Styles make a fight and fighters make adjustments during a fight. Just cause it looked like martinez beat pavlik up doesn't mean he's a better fight at all..And no fight should be looked at that way. True boxing fans know what i mean, and if u argue with me, your just as assface looking for attention.

Btw, My man B-hop is a beast. Pascal tired out in the 4th just like predicted. Pascal was done when Hop was jumping out in the rounds as pascal was sluggin off his stool...great win. I hope he retired...
