Comments Thread For: Arum: Pacquiao-Marquez, No Word on Showtime/HBO Yet

Top Rank's CEO, Bob Arum, advised BoxingScene.com that Manny Pacquiao's upcoming trilogy fight with Juan Manuel Marquez will go to the network that offers them the best deal. Pacquiao's pay-per-view career was built on HBO. But for his recent fight with Shane Molsey, which took place on May 7th in Las Vegas, Pacquiao and Top Rank went with Showtime.

This would be a giant break for the new network EPIX.

HBO. This fight doesn't belong on Showtime. Let HBO have Pac-Marquez 3 and let Showtime have Pac-Bradley/Judah.

I want Showtime because of Jimmy Lennon Jr and 115 m homes. Marquez will be a tune up fight at welterweight.

                HBO for this one

I'd like this fight to be on HBO, even if it doesn't reach as many homes as Showtime. Pac-JMM I and II were on HBO, so even just for consistency's sake including the 24/7 the last chapter of the trilogy ought to be also on the same PPV.

I wonder if CBS will censor JMM drinking his piss.

I don't know why any boxing fan cares about it reaching 115 million homes. I only care about it reaching one home, my home. As far as quality goes, 24/7 over 360 any day of the week.
