I really hope those new viewers weren't put off boxing after watching that fight. And hopefully, they caught the Arce-Vasquez fight.

I wonder how many of those same people will never watch another boxing match again. Hopefully they tuned in to the undercard because to Arum's credit he did a good job with that for once in a long ass time.

For the next promotion Arum should use Domino's strategy and go with a "yeah our product sucks, but this will be better" approach haha

Boxing on CBS would be great, to me the problem with boxing is it's expensive to just be a casual fan. I have several friends who are starting to get into it but they either need to go somewhere to watch or buy it and either way it rings true: one friend told me "it's too expensive to be a fan of man"

"Lets do a fight on CBS, oh wait there is less money in it quick call HBO" Is about how far that would go~
Kevin Iole wrote an article a few weeks ago, I'll see if I can dig it up, where he detailed the genesis of the Top Rank-CBS deal and it was actually the network that came to Todd DuBoef and they said they wanted Boxing back on CBS on Saturday nights. That was the whole point, the end game of this relationship, just sucks that Pac will never be on the network outside of Fight Camps, but maybe they can get the sponsors to invest enough to make it happen, doubt it though.

The fact that Arum is already pushing for Pavlik to be the first headliner makes it seem like the wheels are already in motion.

Pacquiao, who has been accused of using PEDs -- most recently last week by a former sparring partner -- has never failed a drug test.
Review Journal is a real newspaper and Steve Carp is a real journalist. i'm surprised he did not make a distinction between...

              A) being accused of steroids by a sparring partner

              and

              B) being accused pf steroids by an anonymous sparring partner in an article by an anonymous author which was originally posted on a website that isn't even as credible as bleacherreport.

CONCLUSION: fair or not-- pac better take them OSDTs or his rep is ****ed.

Here it is, damn good article:
                  CBS gives Pacquiao-Mosley a prime-time push

Les Moonves, the president and CEO of CBS Corp., was hosting Top Rank officials Bob Arum and Todd duBoef at a dinner in New York in late January when he spoke words that may ultimately change the course of boxing in the United States.

The meal came only a few days after Top Rank had closed a deal with CBS and Showtime to distribute and help it promote its May 7 pay-per-view bout between Manny Pacquiao and Shane Mosley, which will be held at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.

Top Rank’s decision to move to CBS/Showtime and away from HBO Pay-Per-View, which had dominated the industry for the last dozen years or so, sent shockwaves reverberating throughout the boxing industry.

Moonves looked at Arum and duBoef and, referring to the May 7 pay-per-view card, said, “We’ll make this work.” And then, in words that boxing fans in the U.S. have been dying to hear for more than two decades, he added, “I want you guys to figure out how to help me get boxing back [on network television] on Saturday night.”

let me try to explain it to you

Arum Toprank and Manny Pacquiao hurt boxing by exposing that turd of a fight to lots of new fans who most likely would not watch boxing ever again if that was the best boxer in the world and the "Superbowl" of boxing
