i'd rather see martinez get a shot at chavez/zbik winner...rubio is the mandatory but we've all seen madatory fights and then they have to wait, rubio is boring, martinez would make it a better fight, more interesting since he's faster and a better boxer to see how either zbik or chavez would look against him..martinez is one of my fav fighters and would like to see him get that shot against the winner in that fight

Sadly I don't see Martinez fighter neither Cotto or Chavez (cause of a certain fat *** that's destroying boxing), if Zbik wins I can see that fight happening. There isn't too many options for Martinez at '60, he's gonna have to move down or up to get good fights.

Martinez being the WBC "champion emeritus" allows him to have a shot at the WBC strap whenever he wants it, even before the mandatory.

Suliaman and son have promised him a shot at the winner on Oct 1.

if Chavez or Zbik refuse to fight Sergio Martinez then according to WBC rules the title will be stripped.

I think this time Suliaman will actually abide by WBC rules and uphold the challenge. Suliaman has criticized Chavez jr and it looks like he is ready to dump him, along with the rest of Mexico, for Saul Alvarez.

plus Suliaman is petty enough to get a little revenge on Bob Arum for cutting him out of the Pacquiao gravy train by throwing Junior to the wolves.

Doesn't Victor Ortiz fight at about 165 on fight night? I mean Sergio has a 5 inch reach advantage and it seems unlikely but it's just a thought
