In all fairness the world just recently became a smaller place.. Most fights that lead to glory are fought in the U.S.. How are Filipinos suppose to support their fighters like Mexicans or Puerto Ricans when the Philippines is so far away... Reason why promoters never really looked to Asia is because nobody was really going to buy seats or PPV's... Manny changed all that. You would have never heard of the Gerry Penalosa if not for Manny. Gerry has shown that he is a world class fighter but only surfaced on the world stage at the tail end of his career because of the rise of Pacquiao. As far as fans go the majority really do not know about boxing be it floyd fans, cotto fans, Manny fans, tyson fans. .. We see that on this message board every day. It is good boxing has fans though
