  • Comments Thread For: Valuev Agrees With Klitschko: Haye Might Withdraw

On July 2, David Haye (25-1, 23 KOs) battles Wladimir Klitschko (55-3, 49 KOs) at Imtech-Arena in Hamburg, Germany, for heavyweight supremacy. Former WBA champion Nikolay Valuev (50-2, 34 KOs), who was outpointed by the brash Brit in 2009, expressed his serious concerns about the fight actually taking place as scheduled. Valuev shared his thoughts with Dmitry Grebenschikov of Ruslife.eu.

If Haye withdraws, I don't think it's because of financial reasons

Valuev must have just come out of hibernation from his cave.

I'm pretty sure this is an old quote. I certainly heard him say something similar about 12 months ago.

It doesn't really add up now, to be honest. Although Valuev has very little time for Haye and who could blame him after the disgusting things he said about him before their fight, and after his own promoters used Haye to sell him down the river for the greater financial gain.

I think he's talking absolute bollocks, but I got a load of sympathy with big Nic on this one.

win or lose..haye could retire comfortably with the money he's making for this fight

not to mention the star buzz he's garnered for himself

haye would be ******ed to back out

I haven't heard him claim he was 6'3" or above, but I do remember him saying in an interview that he was 6'2". He doesn't look 6'3".

You will see me in the ring with a Klitschko before you ever see Valuev.
