Comments Thread For: Juanma: Salido Gets Clocked in Eight or Nine Rounds

Juan Manuel Lopez, the undefeated WBO featherweight champion, is almost at the weight of his division and he's ready for his next defense this Saturday against Mexico's Orlando Salido. He plans to win with his skills as a boxer and using quicker punches, but he also doesn't rule out a knockout. Juanma plans to box smart and won't allow himself to be reckless by looking for a quick knockout in the early rounds. He wants to break Salido down.

Juanma takes the fight over late when Salido ("not Salita pendejo" LOL) gasses.

I don't expect a Juanma blowout as Salido showed he's a tough, rugged fighter. Moves forward can take a few licks to get his shots in and it's not like he just habitually eats shots either.

I can understand that his fight with Gamboa shouldn't be used to compare how Juanma might look (as Juanma and Gamboa have different styles), but Juanma getting rid of Salido early or late might not even happen.

The two are hard ****ers and we might get a good war going.

juanma struggled vs mtgwa then gamboa destroyed him.....gamboa struggled vs salido and now fighting juanma......i think juanma got an extra motivation to destroy salido( i think he will) to get even with gamboa for making him look bad.....then we shall see juanma vs gamboa next...great..

I'm looking forward to this fight. Salido is tough, but he's a very hit-able opponent. Orlando has said he wants to be hyper-aggressive in this bout. It seems like that'll play right into Lopez's plans, as JuanMa seems interested in developing as a boxer. Lopez intends to use Saturday's fight as a tune-up for Marquez II. JuanMa probably doesn't want to get into another slugfest with Rafa.

I see an exhibition on the horizon. I think Lopez will do exactly as he said. It'll be interesting to see JuanMa break down a worthy Salido and drop the hammer late. If that doesn't happen, it might mean a war.

Saildo wins as he is a Mexican and they always beat Ricans in every single fight. Fact.

I was tempted to respond, but then I calmed down and realized how I was about to feed a troll.
