In a business sense, it's a shame that Lemieux lost. He has the ability to become a star in boxing where Rubio does not. Oh well, cong**** to Rubio on that great win and he showed some class with those post fight comments as well.

I hope to see Lemieux rebound from this and let's see Martinez vs Rubio.

He'll be back. Now that I think about it, I'm glad his trainer stopped it so early. The guy is 22. Most guys aren't in his poisition until 25-27.

You could almost sense this is the way this fight was headed after seeing Rubio weather the storm after 3 rounds, I expected to see him come out and begin throwing more after 4-5 rds. Rubio has power and it showed with the glancing blows that hurt the younger Lemieux. The youngster will have to learn that as you rise in the rankings the experience & power of the opponents do too. Learn to grab when you get hurt!

He will be back, much smarter and dangerous I'm sure.

I love what lemieux trainer had to say, No point in letting a 22 yr old take punishment, A 22 yr old who has many years left in the fight game..

I watched the fight again today. When Lemieux was leaving the ring, it looked like his jaw was jetting out, like it was broken. Have there been any reports online about his condition?

First off I think you're right and don't want to see this fight, but we cannot assume that just because pavlik beat rubio it would be an easy fight for martinez because when you assume you make and ASS out of yourself not me.

David is a fighter who is both young and talented, and this loss could be both good and bad for him. Good in the sense that he could very well come back stronger in the future, and bad because his trainer will not be doing him any favors in the future if everytime he gets in a tough position he is throwing in the towel. He could have very well have weathered the storm on this one but he nor we will ever know. That is the dangerous part of this sport and I'm not saying that he should endure unneccessary punishment. But at some point, if his team expects to keep stepping him up in the future, then he should be facing guys better then Rubio (no offense) -another towel from his trainer could be devestating for his upcoming future career.
