At the Laredo Energy Arena in Laredo, Texas, welterweight prospect Vincent Arroyo (11-1, 7KOs) won an eight round majority decision over previously undefeated Willie Nelson (16-1-1, 10KOs). The scores were 75-73 on two cards for Arroyo and a 74-74 card for a draw. Nelson was dropped in rounds three, six and seven. Arroyo was penalized a point in round three for excessive holding and it coset him a unanimous decision in a very close fight.
