BoxingScene.com was advised that Tyson Fury's team is still attempting to secure former WBC heavyweight champion Hasim Rahman (49-7, 40KOs). If they can close a deal, the fight will take place in a featured position on the Amir Khan-Paul McCloskey undercard on April 16 at the MEN Arena in Manchester.

Whoah. Rahman wants the payday but his trainer won't train him if he takes the fight, interesting dilemma.

The fight was offered to Kali Meehan, and Sky rejected him? But they want an old, shot Rahman on less than two weeks notice? What's wrong with this picture?

Rahman's trainer realizes that Rahman was going to get his ass beat. He must be way out of shape and not in the right condition to fight a guy like Fury. A loss for Rahman now would completely take him out of the title fight picture (although he doesn't deserve to fight for one to begin with, even if he were to beat Fury). Rahman is shot, fat and old, which must be why Fury wants him so badly...

I don't think Fury wants Rahman because he is old, fat, and shot. He wants Rahman because he would be a good test for him at this embryonic stage of his career.

In shape or out of shape, Rahman has devastating power, and if you combine that with Fury's untested chin, then he will always be a threat.

Fury will be the favourite if the fight comes , but make no qualms about it, this is a dangerous fight and one that could easily backfire.

                No, you're not being fair.

They want him because he's a former world titleholder, known for his KO of Lennox Lewis.

He still wants to fight doesnt he?

Rahman/Fury is very interesting fight, Promising Novice vs aging veteran.

this sort of crossroad fight happens all the time

i fond it hard to belive that sky rejected Meehan. More like someone on Fury's team rejected Meehan.

Hope he gets an opponent lined up, i want to see him fight live. Preferably against someone at least half decent.
