At the UIC Pavilion in Chicago, super middleweight Donovan George (22-1-1, 19KOs) overpowered Maxell Taylor (15-3-1, 6 KOs) for an eight round stoppage to pick up the vacant USBA title. After dropping Taylor in the eight, George finished him off with an assault of punches from all angles. George continues to recover from the upset knockout loss to Francisco Sierra from last July. In February, George blew out previously undefeated Cornelius White in the first round of a Showtime televised fight.
