Comments Thread For: Klitschko vs Liakhovich Fight in The Works For June 4?

According to several reports in Russia, WBC world heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko (42-2, 39 KOs) could possibly defend his title against former WBO champ Sergei Liakhovich (25-3, 16 KOs) on June 4 in Germany. Vitali is the main runner to fight Tomasz Adamek in September, but wants to take another fight inbetween. Two weeks ago he stopped Odlanier Solis in a single round after the Cuban was dropped and badly injured his right knee.

He's ranked by the WBC and a former world titleholder. His new promoter Kathy Duva is also Adamek's promoter.

He had that great fight with Brewster in 2006 to win the WBO title:

            Who else is there?

Povetkin is too chicken****, Boytsov isn't ready, Dimitrenko wants to wait until late fall, Arreola's already been beaten, etc.

Sadly, Don King kept him inactive for several periods of 18 months.

There won't be a lot to choose from for Vitali's fight on June 4, I think Lyakhovich is as good a choice as any.
Nope, terrible choice no matter which way you look at it

There nobody else in the WBC rankings, unless Povetkin, Boytsov or Dimitrenko will agree.

Adamek: already signed for September fight

                  Austin: hasn't won since 2009
Stiverne: has never beaten a top 100 HW
Welliver: has never beaten a top 100 HW
Molina: never beaten a top 100 HW
Banks: has never beaten a top 50 HW, horrible mismatch
Thompson: inactive, hasn't had a decent win since 2007, old
Boswell: hasn't defeated a top 100 HW except age 45 McCall

                  JC Gomez: already fought Vitali
Solis: already fought Vitali and is injured
                  Arreola: already fought Vitali

uhh a stay busy fight in preparation for a fight with a top 4 HW in the world 3 months later? Oh, the horror.............If the guys ready to fight on june 4th who gives a damn. Its a 3 loss fighter, former title holder. I mean who else do you want Vitali to fight? Or should he just retire because he's better than everyone else? Sorry that Vitali isnt like Ali and he doesnt struggle with bums making HW bouts like Ali vs. Wepner exciting. I am sure Vitali wishes he wasnt so amazing and didnt have the ability to destroy anyone put in front of him.
