At Emperor's Palace in Kempton Park, South Africa - Rodney Berman of Golden Gloves Promotions presented a well received event, broadcast live on SuperSport, with Thomas Oosthuizen (11-0-1, 9KOs) winning the IBO super middleweight title with a stoppage of Colombian Evert Bravo (16-2, 11KOs) in the ninth round. Oosthuizen has fast hands and harder punches in the contest. He had Bravo in trouble in the fourth, but couldn't finish him. In the ninth round, the referee stepped in after Bravo was taking too much punishment in every round of the fight. Oosthuizen had previously won the IBO Youth light-heavyweight, the IBO Youth super-middleweight and the WBA Pan-African super-middleweight belts.
