Comments Thread For: Felix Trinidad Backs a Cotto vs Margarito Rematch

Former three division champion Felix "Tito" Trinidad fully supports the idea of a rematch between Miguel Cotto and Antonio Margarito. The controversial Mexican boxer knocked out Cotto in the eleventh round in 2008. There are ongoing discussions to stage a rematch on July 16 in either Las Vegas or New Jersey.

Its an even fight.both fighters have been beat in fashion.rather do it now then when theyre hitting mid 30's (trinidad, jones).

Indeed, Tito was a fealress muthaphucca. He took the 9-11 thing to heart and was not in the right frame of mind for that fight according to those who were close to him. The 30 plus headbutts from hopkins did not help him either.

He did a lot for the firemen of NYC too. Tito is not only a great PR fighter, but a great person too.

Not only does Cotto belong in the NY area, but has Margarito even been reinstated by Nevada yet? He fought Pacquiao in Texas because Nevada wouldn't hold its hearing until he was cleared in California. He has not been cleared in California or Nevada so how can the MGM keep coming up as a possible venue. Arum wants New Meadowlands Stadium. I think Boardwalk Hall would be perfect for this fight. The Garden is unavailable for the next 5 summers for renovations.

This fight needs to be in New York.

Tito was a great warrior always came foward n packed a one punch k.o, DLH gave his power the respect dats why he outboxed from the outside, hopefully cotto vs tijuas tornado gets made both fighters are beat up, one of them might show up done, i was confident margarito would win the first match but this one is a lil more tough, i still think marga got the style to beat him im jus not sure if he can do it again
