    Questions about cotto

U was watching some of the first margarito-cotto fight and came up with these questions for when the rematch happens in july.

Do you guys think cotto will be able to succesfully fight off the ropes in the rematch? That gave margarito room to do all of his work, and i doubt manny would allow him to do so in the rematch. Instead, i think they will try to start out the way they did mayorga, In the middle, picking their shots. Thing is, margarito fought decent in the pocket and did land some nice uppercuts on pac. He is also not going to dance around cotto and give him any room.

Can you guys tell me where the infamous "2nd uppercut round" that broke cotto's nose is? I cant seem to find it in highlight vids.

How do you guys rate cotto's power? I have always thought he hit pretty hard, but he hit margarito with everything he had and never even made him flinch.

And last, what do you think gameplans will be for both sides?

    Thanks

He won't fight any better coming off the ropes. The point is to not get caught on the ropes.

His power is average at 154. But the Margarito fight should not be a barometer. He threw almost all of his punches while backing up....that takes so much of your power away.

No, he won't. Cotto is a shambles against the ropes.

He won't be able to fight Margarito in the middle of the ring because Margarito is going to force him backwards.

Margarito doesn't fight that way anymore he's training to be more technical and use his jab more he ain't the relentless pressure fighter he use to be. I think Mosley has something to do with that.

I think Cotto's power is better than average when he plants his feet. Average punchers dont hurt Mayorga like that. You're right though, if he keeps it in the middle he wins. He'll be much more mean than slick like in the last one. Im sure no matter what Miguel says he hears how people talk about that fight and he's got something to prove.

Sounds like teaching an old dog new tricks. I don't see it giving results.

I also can't see Cotto trying to outbox Marg in the rematch. There's a lot of pressure and tension in this one for him. He should definetly stay off the ropes though.

fight of the ropes? I highly doubt theirs any fighter alive who can fight of the ropes against Margarito. The ropes is his home. It's were he does his best work at, and it's were you risk getting knocked the **** out if u dare lay against them when u fight him. The Mayorga fight was the epitome of how Cotto expects to fight Margarito, which is why it was a tune-up for Marg. He wants to keep the fight in the middle of the ring, be calm, collected, get in, and out.

Cotto's power is elite, yet it is diminished when he fights of the back foot, as he did with Marg in the first fight. The constant, relentless pressure is to much for Cotto. I want him to **** Margarito for being a ****** ho.e, but I doubt he can beat him. Yet, with a better game plan, no plaster, and calmness I'm sure Cotto can make it to the 12th.
