Two time European Middleweight Champ, Matthew “Mack the Knife” Macklin has landed a high profile Las Vegas showdown with the legendary Ronald "Winky" Wright on April 9th. The fight will be the first of a lucrative promotional deal that Macklin has inked with Oscar De La Hoya's Golden Boy Promotions. The bout will take place at the MGM Grand on a live HBO pay per view event and will serve as the co-featured attraction to the clash between Mexican legend Erik “El Terrible” Morales and Argentinian power puncher, Marcos Maidana with the event being billed by Golden Boy as "Action Heroes".

He's only confident about a victory because of how old Winky is. But I've still got Winky beating him.

Winky, even at this age, might pull this one out as he was very talented. "Legendary?" Not so much.

old as winky may look, and inacive as he is,if he dont KO maclkin he may aswell retire.

if winky can look sharp and still as good as before,he would probably be martinez's toughest challenge.

macklins looked awful in his last 2 fights. he keeps saying big fights will bring the best out of him, now its time to prove it. personally i don't really rate him anyway, i'm british but i hope wright wins cos i've always been a big fan of his.

IMHO all Winky has to do is box! He is still one of the greatest pure boxers alive whom have been ducked!
