To clarify some misinformation being circulated, members of Noe Gonzalez Alcoba's team have advised BoxingScene.com that their boxer is the mandatory challenger to the WBC super middleweight title currently held by Carl Froch. Alcoba (26-1, 18KOs) captured the WBC's silver title last month in Uruguay with a three round stoppage of Gustavo Magallanes.

i hope WBC dont be d*cks and not allow froch to keep his title and fight on in the final(should he beat johnson of course).

But if they do threaten to strip him should he not face this mandatory,he should just drop the belt,and continue to the final for the other belt!.

best thing would be for froch to beat johnson and win the final,then rematch kessler after the tournament ends.

froch also said he would rematch pascal,and i reckon bute,bhop and dawson are all potential opponents.

Another example of the ridiculousness of the WBC. Here's their current 168 lb situation:

WBC Champion: Carl Froch
WBC Emeritus Champion: Mikkel Kessler
WBC Silver Champion: Noe Gonzalez
WBC Interim Champion: Nikola Sjeldoca
WBC #1 Ranked Contender: Kelly Pavlik

So there are 4 guys the WBC has waiting in the wings for Froch's title, while Froch is still tied up in the Super Six. Not only will they make sanctioning fees off of Froch for his fight with Johnson (and the winner of Ward/Abraham should he win), in the meantime the WBC is also lining themselves up to make money by tacking their name on any bull**** matchups involving the rest of these guys.
