Size matters when talking boxing in America. Some countries the little guys do real well but if you are under 126 here you are in a real uphill climb.

If you think about it that way, it really sucks ....

but their is a brighter side to this, before PAC earned around the money Nonito is earning for this fight it was already his first fight with Marco who is a legitimate superstar ...

Only in boxing can a two highly regarded, world class boxers, willing to fight one another in one of the most important fights in boxing, make such little money while cherry picking, gutless cowards like Andre Berto are able to make over a million for a rounds work over glass jawed taxi drivers like Freddy Hernandez.

Glad they are making significant money, but both guys are worth a lot more than that.

I think they are both underpaid. Bradley-Alexander both got over a million and that was the worst fight in years.

this is really bad, I think bros the pay rate are split between LW and Jr. Welter, basically if your LW and below you have to be a superstar before you earn Bradley, Alexander or Berto purse ...

Both fighters are using this fight to make a bigger name for themselves. Even though Montiel is a champion and has been around for awhile, most of his fights take place in Mexico. I actually think Donaire is a bigger draw than Montiel at the moment. Anyway, this fight should be really entertaining and with it being broadcast on HBO, I'm sure both fighters will be building a bigger fanbase.
