Comments Thread For: Guillermo Jones-Yoan Pablo Hernandez Clash in May?

According to reports in Panama, there is a possibility that WBA cruiserweight Guillermo Jones (37-3, 29KOs) will face the new interim-champion, Yoan Pablo Hernandez (24-1, 13KOs) of Cuba, in the month of May. This past Saturday in Germany, Hernandez knocked out French boxer Steve Herelius to capture the interim-belt. Jones returned last October in his first fight in over two years to stop Valery Brudov of Russia in eleven rounds.

    Hopefully it will happen.

Hernandez would be a better WBA champion than Jones - at least he won't take two years before he has his first title defense.

This fight needs to take place. The fewer the interim and super champions, the better. Now if the WBA can just force Sturm to fight Golovkin, and John to fight Gamboa, we'll make some progress

I think chances are great that it will happen in May! Interesting fight! I think its a even fight but i also favour Jones, the guy that could have ruled the division if he stayed active. Its impressive, he came from welterweight! This guy is a gifted athlete but he wasted his career pretty much. Unbelievable how mismanaged his career is. But nobody would pay for him in the U.S and in Panama there is no room for a championship fight.

I think Jones is just a better quality of fighter and will beat him even though Hernandez did look good this past Saturday.

                110% agreed.

I think Jones is able to stop him.
