Comments Thread For: Lazarte vs Solis Rematch Will Head To Argentina

There is going to be a rematch of the controversial fight, which took place in Mar de Plata, Argentina, on December 18, where the Argentinean champion, Luis Lazarte, defended his flyweight title of the International Boxing Federation (IBF), against Mexican challenger, Ulysses "Archie" Solis. After a review of the video, the championship committee of the IBF immediately ordered a direct rematch. Solis appeared to be the clear winner after twelve rounds but the fight was scored a majority draw. There were several fouls in the bout, including the champion biting Solis. Somehow two judges saw it 113-113, while the third had it 117-109 for Solis.

This is fucking horrible for Solis. He told me he didn't want to go back to Argentina.

Lazarte is about to turn 40. IMO, Solis scores a late KO

There is no place worse than Germany
There have been some bad calls in Argentina (like Solis-Lazarte I), but the Argies also gave Campillo a fair shake when he won a pretty close fight over Argentine Hugo Garay for a light heavyweight belt in 2009. When was the last time a foreigner won a close decision over a Universum or Sauerland fighter in Germany?
