How is Miguel Cotto past his prime? Everytime a fighter loses many of you claim them to be "past their prime". When Mike Tyson lost to Holyfield he WAS NOT past his prime, nobody is in their prime at 20, tyson was 26-27 years old and more physically strong then the pre-prison Tyson.

when you aren't as good as you once were, you're past prime
Tyson was 30 when he fought Holyfield
he was definitely past his prime
Cotto is at the end of his prime, certainly not what he once was

So your saying pre prison Tyson is worse than post prison Tyson? Ooook.

A loss obviously doesn't mean your past prime, but when you take a beatdown like Cotto took, more time than not your not going to be the same. But Cotto wasn't done after Margarito and nor is he now IMO.

Tyson was obviously prime when he lost to Holy.

Cotto being past prime is debatable.

Exactly, after the beatdown cotto took obviously it will affect you somewhat. Even if not physically it can be psychological. For example when fighters cant pull the trigger anymore, its not that they physically can't but they are just not the same mentally.

I definitely agree with you general statement. Cotto and Tyson are bad examples tho. I was thinking more like Paul Williams, Chad Dawson

Most fanatics seems to think if a fighter loses, he is past his prime. Then marquez should have been past his prime long time ago. He is still fighting on top of his game , is he not?
