A rep for Erik Morales has told members of the Mexican press that a deal was reached to fight Marcos Maidana on April 9 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. Golden Boy Promotions is handling the card. The fight came about after Juan Manuel Marquez took a pass on fighting Morales in order to sort out his promotional situation with Golden Boy Promotions.

If Morales wins...man there's gonna be something WRONG with his brain. They put Khan through a medical after the fight in December. I think this is a dangerous fight and Morales is probably watching Lights Out or something.

Maidana does need a better trainer though. I'd like to see someone big step in and beef up his game. He's raw talent just begging to be shaped.
