We had the oportunity to talk to a source inside Golden Boy Promotions about the rumors in Mexico pertaining to the fight between Erik Morales and Juan Manuel Marquez, which is scheduled for April 9 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. He told BoxingScene.com that there is not a done deal yet, and there are a lot of things still on the table still, but they hope that the fight hets made as soon as possible.

I really enjoy Marquez' fights, but this is an unfortunate cash grab. Reminds me of Leonard-Duran III. Nobody cared anymore.

I love Morales however I think he is in way over his head against a near-prime JMM. This is a good stay busy fight for JMM and afterward, he can seek out Pacquiao, Bradley or Khan and get another big fight that he deserves. I just hope Morales gives a good account of himself and doesn't get hurt...

The champion comes in second and is announced second unless they both have a belt or one has a belt and the other is the Ring champion. If this happens, then the guy who enters the ring first gets announced second and vice versa. This what happened with Bradley vs. Alexander....

I dont see Morales being any effective on this fight, the last time he took a long brake and came back to the ring got KOed badly by Pac. Marquez will eat this guy alive...
