Training camp has begun for Miguel Cotto. The Puerto Rican star defends his WBA junior middleweight title against Ricardo Mayorga on March 12 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. He came to Florida to start camp with trainer Emanuel Steward. The veteran trainer was pleased with Cotto's shape entering camp.

cotto's stock will rise if he's able to get him out while he's dangerous: the first 4 rounds

Glad to hear Miguel didn't step in to camp too heavy..in assuming he's about 165-168lbs right now..

I don't know if Cotto T/KO's Mayorga, but it's gonna be a brutal beat down!..

The funny thing is, while Cotto fights Mayorga and beats him he will have fought two guys who are washed up once he heads into the Margarito rematch even if rematching Margarito is the right thing to do because of redemption and the fact that Margarito made Cotto submit.

I'm not saying I won't give Cotto credit if he beats Margarito in a rematch. But if people expect me to use that as a barometer of how he'll do against a guy like Sergio Martinez they are mistaken and I'm sure other people will feel the same way too. And to me, I still got Margarito beating Cotto a second time because he has a better chin and better stamina.

Yea, sounds like alot of people are about to sleep on Mayorga, don't do it, Cotta ain't the same as he use to be. And Mayorga is always dangerous. Gonna be a good fight, wish it was a 24/7.
