Pavlik's only losses have been to the two best p4p fighters north of 147.

And he was battling serious alcohol issues during both of those fights. Can he make a comeback, either at 160 or 168?

Never thought he was very good in the 1st place, he is very predictable and should be easy for a real world class fighter to train for.

Anybody ca ndo a comeback, that just means getting in the ring.

      A succesful comeback?That's another thing.

IMO Pavlik had his best days, was the MW champ,he never looked to become a legend or long time elite.
      The answer is no IMO.

He can regain what he once had. The question is, did he ever really have much?

Hopefully for his sake, he can be managed well, rebuilt and then win a few meaningful/interesting fights. Once that happens, maybe he gets a big fight in the 168 division and win or lose, will have at least made it back to where he once was.

If he can beat alcohol he could possibly do it, he should gain a mental edge from beating something like that. That is a big IF though and it is a constant battle.

Maybe without the alcohol addiction making 160 will be easier. I still want a Williams fight.

That's true his losses don't look quite as bad now considering what Hopkins and Sergio have gone on to do since they fought him. And like you mentioned he was drinking, which started after the first Jermain Taylor win according to some sources.

OP makes a good point. If he can beat the alcoholism, he can make a comeback.

Pavlik has had a really nice career. Those are not bad losses at all. How much he has left no one knows. Besides alcohol money also takes a toll on lots of fighters. Some aren't hungry when they literally are no longer hungry
