  • Comments Thread For: Haye Trouble: British Board Likely To Reject Chagaev

There could some additional trouble in store for WBA heavyweight champion David Haye. BoxingScene.com has obtained a letter from the British Boxing Board of Control, dated June 4, 2009, which clearly states that mandatory challenger Ruslan Chagaev would not be approved to box in Great Britain. Haye's team has raised their concerns regarded the British Board approving Chagaev due to his struggles with Hepatitis B.

              Easy.

Haye should fight Chagaev in the Republic of Ireland, in Dublin. Perhaps in the USA, maybe East coast, New York MSG.

That way a lot of his British fans can easily make it over to see the fight. And then we can truly see how big his fanbase is and whether or not they're prepared to travel to support him.

That's actually good news for Haye, he doesn't have to fight his mandatory, he can just sit out for another 8-9 months...
