Comments Thread For: Vazquez vs Zappavigna in Play For Cotto-Mayorga Card

BoxingScene.com has learned that Miguel Vazquez (27-3, 12KOs) will likely defend his IBF lightweight title against unbeaten mandatory Lenny Zappavigna (25-0, 17KOs) on the March 12 pay-per-view undercard to Miguel Cotto-Ricardo Mayorga, which takes place at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. Zappavigna destroyed Ji Hoon Kim in the first round of their IBF eliminator last October.

Vasquez is going to give Zapp a boxing lesson. One guy has solid skills, the other guy is face first. It will be nearly one-sided.

I know Zappavigna stopped Kim and it was a pretty good showing for him, but in the fight before, the judges had to rob his opponent for him to get the win.

Vazquez will keep outboxing these guys until he runs into Canelo and Bradley level opposition again (Zappavigna isn't on that level). He's at lightweight now too, so it'll take an even better effort to get a W over him.

                    Vazquez probably pitches another shutout.
